This Tuesday, the two royals traveled to a Scottish island.

As People reported, the country has a unique significance for the couple.

Because that's where they met 24 years ago as students at the University of St. Andrews!

The two were initially close friends before a romantic relationship developed around a year after their first meeting.

However, the engagement was a long time coming: the heir to the throne stalled his sweetheart for many years before popping the question in 2010.

The wedding took place just one year later - on April 29, 2011. Today, the couple have three children together, while William is first in line to the throne.

The current trip to Scotland is the couple's first appearance together for many weeks. Over the Easter period, the two had retreated and enjoyed some time out with their offspring.
