Teenager allegedly killed her rival's show goat with poison
Texas (USA) - Did she kill her competitor's goat so that her own animal would win the competition? Aubrey Vanlandingham (17) from Texas is facing serious accusations.

As reported by the Guardian , the Texan teenager was charged with animal cruelty. She is accused of poisoning a competitor's show goat with pesticides and killing it.
The crime allegedly took place in October in a barn at Vista Ridge High School in Cedar Park. The teenager used a spray gun to administer the poisonous substance to the animal.
According to an affidavit made available to several US media outlets, Vanlandingham is said to have confessed to deliberately poisoning the animal . According to the authorities, the incident was also captured on video.
According to the evidence, the animal died around 21 hours later after showing convulsions and signs of respiratory distress.
A necropsy is said to have confirmed that the cause of death was organ phosphate poisoning from phosmet. This is a chemical compound used to combat parasites in livestock farming.

Teenager could be jailed for up to two years for animal cruelty
The mother of the 15-year-old girl whose goat was killed said her family wanted "justice". They hope Aubrey Vanlandingham would receive a prison sentence if convicted.
"We were there when the goat died. My daughter even held her. That was very traumatic," said the mother.
Vanlandingham expressed to police that the competitor goat was a "cheater." When investigators searched her browser history, they found the search queries "how much bleach can kill an animal," "pet poisoning, what to know" and "how to clear search history."
If convicted, the 17-year-old faces up to two years in prison.
