That's why his punctuality is this man's undoing
Austria - Germans are known for their punctuality. But this has now become a man's "undoing".

A video is currently going viral on TikTok showing Linus almost alone at a wedding reception.
"My German husband wanted to be on time for an Egyptian wedding," the video says. However, 1.5 hours after the official start, there is no sign of any other party guests.
"The invitation said it would start at 5 p.m.," Sarah (26), Linus' wife, toldNewsweek.
"So Linus really wanted to be there on time. But what he didn't realize was that events like this are a little different for Egyptian families."
She went on to explain that the wedding was more of a party, so there were no ceremonies or speeches. So it's more about celebrating. "So it wasn't seen as disrespectful to be late."
Sarah had even "warned" her husband not to be there too early, but "he was still afraid of missing out and wanted to be there on time".

Different cultures, different punctuality

The Austrian hopes that the video will help people understand that "differences, even in something as simple as punctuality, can be a source of humor and learning rather than frustration".
The clip has now been viewed more than 1.7 million times. In a later shot, Linus can be seen having a lot of fun on the dance floor, which was still filling up late at night.
Sarah is the daughter of Egyptian parents, but was born in Austria. She also met her future husband there. His parents are also Austrian, but he was born in Germany because of his father's profession.
Linus then studied mechanical engineering in Austria "and that's where our paths crossed," said the 26-year-old, recounting the story of how they met.
