Prince William (42) and Princess Kate (43) attended an event today, Monday, at which the Jews murdered in the Holocaust were honored.

As The Sun reported, the heir to the throne gave a reading at the ceremony. Meanwhile, the 43-year-old lit a memorial candle.

While the couple honored the day in London, King Charles (76) traveled to Poland to visit the former Auschwitz concentration camp.

Accompanied by monarchs, presidents, prime ministers and Holocaust survivors, he will attend a service at the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum.

Together with the other heads of state, Charles will light a candle and lay a wreath in front of a historic freight wagon.
