Theft and nude photos: rock band "Gel" disbanded for "abominations"
New Jersey (USA) - The US hardcore rock band "Gel" ("XOXO", "Mirage", "Honed Blade") has disbanded and canceled its upcoming gigs, including in Germany. According to the band, the "heinous acts" of their ex-guitarist are to blame.

As "Gel" announced on social media on Thursday, Anthony Webster had "committed such heinous acts in his attempt to further his musical career that he has caused irreparable damage to the band".
According to the statement, Webster stole tens of thousands of US dollars from the band's bank account. He spent the money on rent, food orders and "anything else he wanted". This allegedly included many purchases from a website for erotic paid content. But that was not all.
He allegedly posted nude pictures of band members on Reddit, exposed musicians to physically dangerous situations and generally acted like "a little fucking baby".
The band described their relationship with Webster as an "abusive relationship" from which they could not easily break away.
"Gel" was actually supposed to tour with "Volbeat"
Anthony Webster was kicked out of the band months ago. However, "Gel" could apparently no longer exist. Apparently, a line had to be drawn. "We know that so many people have counted on us," they said.
"Thank you to the friends we've made over the years and thank you to our fans who have always been there for us and shown us how much they care. Take care and love your friends," are the last words from "Gel" for now.
The band, which was founded in 2018, was supposed to go on tour with Volbeat ("Still Counting", "For Evigt") in the fall of 2025. The band had already announced concerts in Germany for July, including in Hamburg and Dresden. In April, "Gel" was due to perform at the internationally renowned "Coachella" festival in the US state of California.
