Thousands without power, at least one dead: severe flooding in Australia!

Queensland (Australia) - Heavy rainfall has caused several rivers to burst their banksin parts of the Australian province of Queensland, flooding towns and villages.

The authorities called on residents in the affected areas to leave their homes, as the Australian broadcaster ABC Australia reported today (Sunday).

There is still a risk of heavy rain and dangerous flooding in Queensland until Tuesday, said a meteorologist from the national weather agency.

In parts of Queensland, up to 1000 liters per square meter of rain is expected to fall within 48 hours, according to the Australian Weather Bureau.

A woman died during a rescue operation in the town of Ingham. According toABC Australia, 6,000 households in the town have no electricity.
