Toddler loses hand in meat grinder!

Vienna - A two-year-old girl from Austria reached into a meat grinder and lost her hand.

The painful incident took place on Sunday evening in the Ottakring district of Vienna, as the regional police department reported on Monday.

In the presence of several adults, including the mother (28), the toddler, probably in a moment of carelessness, stuck her small hand into the kitchen appliance, which is normally used to chop raw meat.

As the Kronen Zeitung reported, the girl's hand was completely severed in the process. The little girl is said to have been stuck in the meat grinder up to her forearm. The police report mentions serious injuries.

After the two-year-old was freed from her predicament by the emergency services, she was taken to hospital for further medical treatment.

Meanwhile, the police are investigating how the accident could have happened. According to the media report, charges will now be brought against the mother.
