Tragic discovery: 61-year-old found dead with dogs!
Oregon (USA) - A 61-year-old woman who went hiking with her two dogs disappeared without a trace shortly afterwards and was later found dead.
For Susan Lane-Fournier, a hike in the countryside should be a welcome break from her hectic everyday life.
As Daily Mail reports, she had only filed for divorce from her husband Michel (71) a few weeks ago after 12 years of marriage.
Together with her two dogs, the 61-year-old wanted to escape the stress and relax in the tranquillity of nature.
But things turned out differently: Susan disappeared without a trace and her body was found last Friday.
A friend who was helping to search for her discovered her lifeless body near a highway, hidden under a tarpaulin.
The 62-year-old's two dogs were also found dead in the area.
Her husband was arrested and will be charged
On the same day, her husband, Michel Fournier, was arrested on suspicion of premeditated murder.
Neighbors reported that the couple's marriage was increasingly marked by abuse and domestic violence, which has become more and more apparent in recent years.
A GoFundMe campaignhas since been set up to offer support to Susan's adult sons and stand by them during this difficult time.
