Tragic stroke of fate: Little boy dies in his sleep after head injury
Birmingham - Muhammed Yaseen Uddin, a six-year-old boy from Birmingham (UK), has tragically died as a result of a head injury. His parents put him to bed, but he was never to wake up again.
On December 10, the day of the accident, the boy was sent home from school because he had hit his head.
With an ice pack on the bump on his head, he waited for his mother to pick him up, as theMirror reports.
Once home, he was given some of the painkiller Calpol and then celebrated his sister's birthday with the family.
He then went to bed. His parents tried to give him some Calpol again, but he couldn't swallow it and vomited. They thought it was due to the medication itself.
The next morning, his father Simriel Uddin (41), who had left the house very early, received a desperate phone call. All he heard were his wife's screams and his son's name. He remembers how his "heart broke" and he raced home as fast as he could.
Police officers and paramedics were already waiting there. The child was taken to hospital, where doctors fought for his life.
Shortly after the father's arrival, they lost the battle and stopped treatment - Yaseen could no longer be saved. A CT scan will now shed light on what led to his tragic death.
A mosque is to be built in memory of Yaseen
The headteacher of Marlborough Primary School, where the boy attended, issued a statement about the tragic incident.
"Yaseen was an incredibly helpful, kind and caring pupil who brought a smile to the face of everyone he met," she recalled.
The father has since started a fundraising campaign on"gofundme". Donations are being collected there for the construction of a mosque. This is to be built in Pakistan - a place that the six-year-old particularly liked.
The equivalent of around 8000 euros has already been collected so far.
