The two men met last Saturday after the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral .

As The Sun has now reported, Trump then stated that William had told him that the British king was "fighting very hard" with regard to his cancer treatment.

However, the 42-year-old's wife Princess Kate (42), who also has cancer, is "doing well".

"I had a good conversation with the prince. I asked him about his wife and he said she was fine. And I asked him about his father, and his father is fighting very hard, and he loves his father and he loves his wife, so it was sad," said the soon-to-be president.

He went on to gush about the prince: "We had a great conversation for half an hour (...) We had a great, great conversation. (...) He looked really, really good last night. Some people look better in person?"

During the conversation, Trump told reporters present that the future king would do a fantastic job.

Donald Trump and Prince William last met in 2019, when the 78-year-old was on a state visit to the UK .
