War, escape and a miracle: family learns the truth about their son!
Washington (USA) - When Russian troops invaded Ukraine , a family fled to the USA while their son (25) was fighting on the front line. The relatives were informed of his death. But years later, the unexpected truth came to light!
It sounds like a miracle: the Biletskiy family has found their 25-year-old son Roman Jr. again - alive and well.
As reported by the Daily Mail, the young man, who was captured during a military operation in May 2022, was initially presumed dead.
The parents, Valeriia and Roman Biletskiy, had received an official letter from Ukrainian President Selenskyj (46) confirming their son's death.
However, by chance, they came across a photo showing their child together with other men who had just been released from a Russian prison.
Roman Jr. was part of a prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia
It was hard to believe: Their son, who they thought was lost, was alive. A short time later, Roman Jr. also contacted his parents by phone.
His return was part of a prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia, in which 189 Ukrainians were released, while 150 Russian soldiers were also released.
Despite his release, the young man is still struggling with the consequences of his imprisonment.
That is why the family is now collecting donations to give him a fresh start in the USA.
