In an internal memo, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has called on law enforcement agencies to exercise increased caution, as reported by theNew York Post.

"On February 1, 2025, the El Paso Sector Intelligence and Operations Center (EPT-IOC) received information indicating that Mexican cartel leaders have authorized the use of drones with explosives for use against U.S. Border Patrol agents and U.S. military personnel," the U.S. magazine quotes from the letter.

Apart from attacks with such kamikaze drones, the cartels are also said to have incited migrants who have already made it across the border illegally to violence.

According to the report, the US authorities refer to several posts on social networks in which the drug smugglers call on people to defend themselves against the US authorities with feces. If you are sitting in a patrol car, for example, you should defecate and pee inside. Direct incitements to murder are also known.

US media see this approach by the Mexican drug cartels as a direct reaction to the stricter migration policy under President Donald Trump (78).

Meanwhile, the Border Patrol officers were instructed to pay even closer attention to their surroundings in view of the threat situation.
