Woman examines second-hand sweater after purchase: then she has to swallow

New York City (USA) - This red turtleneck sweater just won't let her go. Last month, Gianna Christine (26) from New York landed a viral hit on TikTok with the garment . The actual purchase was years ago. Where does the shoe pinch?

At the time, the New Yorker was delighted when she discovered the finely ribbed sweater in a vintage store. The price was quite high at 48 US dollars (45.70 euros). But Gianna was sure she had snapped up a real bargain.

"I love red, so the color of this particular sweater caught my eye, and when I tried it on, it fit perfectly," she said in an interview with Newsweek this week.

The problem: when she checked her find at home, she had to gulp. "That's when I noticed the F21 label. I felt cheated because even though I love shopping at F21, their brand new sweaters often cost less than 20 dollars," said the US-American.

"So I thought it was ridiculous of me to spend more than double that on a second-hand one." Nevertheless, she would end up benefiting twice from the purchase.

On the one hand, Gianna has repeatedly reached for her expensive second-hand sweater in recent years. Accordingly, she concludes: "Now I don't regret my purchase because I've worn it a lot and I like the style."

On the other hand, thanks to the story of the old days of her expensive purchase, she can look forward to a viral hit with more than two million clicks on TikTok.

The 26-year-old can also draw a conclusion from the whole thing: "When I buy vintage, I always look at the brand names and fabric labels to see if what I'm buying is really worth the price."

The bottom line is that this mistake has taught her a lot after all.
