Years of manhunt: Rental car fraudster from Mallorca caught in Germany
Frankfurt am Main - Germany could extradite one of Mallorca's biggest fraudsters to Spain or Italy. A 47-year-old entrepreneur is suspected of being involved in a fraud scandal with his company "Autoclick" and of having caused damage amounting to around 50 million euros.

In 2018, the entrepreneur was first targeted by investigators after a Dutch company purchased 25 vehicles for 233,000 euros, but never received the papers, as reported by the"Mallorca Zeitung".
The Guardia Civil then searched the headquarters of "Autoclick" in the Son Oms industrial estate on the Balearic island and confiscated 80 vehicles.
Shortly after these events, the suspect presumably disappeared to Taiwan, where he ran another car dealership.
It took a long time for the authorities to track him down. Taiwan waited two years before responding to the Interpol search. Finally, the 47-year-old was arrested in Frankfurt . However, no one knows exactly why he ended up there.
The suspect is extradited from Germany

In the meantime, both Spain and Italy have submitted extradition requests to Germany.
The Spanish authorities are particularly interested in prosecution because the suspect is said to have operated mainly in Mallorca and numerous victims are resident there.
Italy would also like to initiate criminal proceedings, as the fraudster is also said to have been active there.
It is now up to the German judicial authorities to decide whether the suspect will be extradited to Spain or Italy.
He faces severe penalties in both countries - in Spain he could face up to ten years in prison.
