Young mother looks frustrated in the mirror: what her husband does then touches so many

Missouri (USA) - Most mothers realize that they look a little different after giving birth. But quite a few are plagued by self-doubt shortly afterwards. This was the case for Shyann Purnell, who stood frustrated in front of the mirror in December, just three weeks after the birth of her second daughter.

Because she recorded the moment her husband suddenly burst in, Purnell was able to land a viral hit on TikTok . What the young man did and said has since touched an audience of millions.

The mother of two, who lives with her family in the US state of Missouri, stands in front of the mirror in the curious clip. In order to be able to better compare herself with earlier and later images, she records her "body check" on video.

Then Purnell's husband bursts into the recording.

While she stares in frustration at her exposed belly, he quickly pulls her sweater down again. Then he says to her: "Don't focus on that! You look beautiful."

In addition to 2.4 million clicks, the video has received more than 300,000 likes since it was published on 18 December. Many users are touched by their partner's loving gesture.

In an interview with Newsweek , Purnell has now shared even more about the moment.

"He knew right away that I was focusing on my belly, and as always, he reminded me that my body is different now, but more beautiful because I had two babies ! So it was totally honest in the moment," she told the US magazine.

However, the young father was not only a very good support in this situation, but also in general.

"Our first child is learning to deal with a little sister, and every day gets easier and easier in that respect. And my husband's support, presence and activity helps to make even the most difficult parts seem less impossible to cope with," says the mother proudly.

With so much praise for her husband, Purnell also receives plenty of positive comments. The general tenor of the other women: They would love to have a partner like that.
