Fort Worth (USA) - Life has been upside down for a family from Texas since last weekend , when little Maverick was born. With his birth, he turned four-year-old Blossom into a big sister. Fortunately, the camera was rolling when they met for the first time, because what the little girl said was definitely meant to be captured forever!

"We welcomed our baby boy Maverick into the world yesterday," wrote mother Pearl Downing on Sunday.

Once the stresses and strains of the birth were over and mother and baby had been moved to a room, the next special moment arrived: daughter Blossom came to visit.

As soon as the four-year-old came through the door, she walked purposefully to the patient's bed, where Maverick was slumbering peacefully. In the video, you can see the girl gently stroking the newborn and declaring: "He's so cute."

But you can already tell that Blossom's attention is clearly focused on someone else: her mom.

The girl keeps looking in her direction and then finally asks: "Are you okay, mom?"

She then eyes the pulls on her mother's hand with some concern. "I've got a little boo-boo there," Pearl explains to her daughter. Reassured, Blossom then turns her attention back to her tiny brother, who again receives a little cuddle and even a fleeting kiss.

Later, the four-year-old explains in the video that she already loves Maverick so much and would definitely give him some sweets. "One day", her father says with a laugh.
