To be assured of her death: Man digs up dead mother and brings coffin home
Avilés (Spain) - Because he could not believe his mother had died, a man in the Asturian town of Avilés dug up her body and took the coffin home with him.

Eyewitnesses are said to have witnessed these unbelievable scenes live at the municipal cemetery "La Carriona" last Saturday, the DailyMail reports.
According to the report, the man allegedly went to his mother's grave niche, where she had been buried just a few days earlier, and shouted that she had been taken from her home "without permission".
He then allegedly removed grave flowers and the gravestone and dragged the coffin to his car himself. Eyewitnesses tried to stop the man from doing this, but he is said to have even asked bystanders to help him carry the coffin.
After he had lifted the coffin into his trunk, he is said to have driven the few kilometers to his house. The police finally arrested him on his property and took the coffin back to the cemetery.
Man wanted to insure himself against the death of his mother
The man spent the following night in a cell and then told the judge in charge that he had wanted to check whether his mother had really gone, as her death had been unexpected and sudden.
The examination by a psychiatrist did not reveal any mental abnormalities, which is why hospitalization was not necessary.
The investigation against the unidentified man is ongoing and he could possibly be charged with aggravated defilement.
