Secret wedding at Frodo! Elijah Wood is under the wedlock

Los Angeles (USA) - Insiders have probably known for some time. Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood (44) and his long-term partner Mette-Marie Kongsved (33) have tied the knot.

The Hollywood star and the Danish film producer have officially been a couple since 2018. However, they kept their exact relationship status a secret for a long time.

Now it's official: the celebrity portal TMZ has obtained a marriage certificate from Los Angeles. Elijah Wood (44) and Mette-Marie Kongsved (33) are married.

However, because the couple opted for a confidential marriage certificate, it is unclear when and where the wedding took place. The couple are said to be secretive.

Elijah Wood had previously sparked wild speculation. During an appearance on the "Inside of You Podcast", Woods repeatedly referred to his partner as "his wife" and raved about family life to podcast host Michael Rosenbaum (52).

Elijah Wood was overjoyed at the time: "I'm beyond grateful for my family, my kids, my wife. They're like a part of me." The star adds: "They are the most important people in my life."

However, insiders report that the two got married on New Year's Eve in Sweden. The intimate ceremony took place in a very small circle. Only 80 friends and family members were present, TMZ reports.

Few details about Ellijah Wood's private life are known.

In 2018, the star made his relationship with Mette-Marie Kongsved public. The two are said to have met and fallen in love on the set of the Netflix production "Strangers in the World" in 2017. Woods and Kongsved became parents to a son in 2019, followed by a daughter in 2022 - although the children's names are top secret.

But it wasn't until February 2024 that the couple were seen holding hands for the first time on the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Now the surprise wedding.

What is certain is that the "Lord of the Rings" star is not only on cloud nine with his wife in his private life, the two apparently also get along very well on set. In 2024, Elijah Wood was seen in the critically acclaimed adventure comedy Bookworm - a production by his wife.
