Just a few days ago, the 53-year-old drastically cut payments to the US Agency for International Development (USAID).

As reported by the Financial Times , this organization is responsible for the worldwide distribution of foreign aid.

The 69-year-old accused Musk of risking a resurgence of diseases such as measles, HIV and polio.

"The image of the richest man in the world killing the poorest children in the world is not a nice one. (...) I wish he would talk to the children who are now infected with HIV because he has cut this money," said Gates.

In his interview with the magazine, the entrepreneur also stated that he would like to give his remaining fortune to his charitable foundation over the next 20 years.

"People will say a lot of things about me when I die, but I'm determined that 'he died rich' won't be one of those things," said the 69-year-old.

He also emphasized that there were too many pressing problems that needed to be solved for him to want to hold on to resources that could be used to help other people.

The tech giant has already donated over 100 billion dollars - the equivalent of around 88.9 billion euros - with a further 200 billion dollars to come.

The main goals of his foundation are to eliminate preventable diseases, fight infectious diseases such as malaria and measles and overcome poverty for hundreds of millions of people.
