31 children found in horror house: Horrifying details come to light

Ivica (Bosnia and Herzegovina) - Shocking discovery in Bosnia : 31 children were found in a run-down house at the end of February. Now new details have emerged.

As the Bosnian news sites Balans and Kurir report, 23 girls and eight boys were found in the building in appalling conditions.

The children, aged between two and twelve, had to sleep on bare mattresses without bedding, and the entire dwelling was covered in dirt and filth.

Initially, the police were at a loss as to how the children had got into the house and who they were.

In the meantime, the identity of 19 of the 31 children has been clarified, as the district authority announced at a press conference on Friday.

According to reports, seven children are from Rome , five from Zagreb, one minor from the Croatian city of Rijeka, two more from Barcelona , two from Nice and two from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The children are currently being accommodated in a local hotel in the Brčko district and are receiving professional care.

Eleven suspects have already been arrested and two are in custody. They are being investigated for child neglect and child trafficking.
