North Carolina (USA) - Little Presley from the US state of North Carolina is just about to discover the world. One special moment caused excitement not only among her parents.

The girl was just four months old when dad Chris picked her up with both hands and held her in front of the mirror. Mom Hannah recorded what happened next on her cell phone and then posted it on TikTok .

The video went viral within a short space of time. Around 1.9 million views and more than 300,000 likes speak for themselves.

Baby Presley enchanted everyone and left hardly a dry eye in the house. "We were getting her ready for bed when she started looking at herself in the mirror and laughing her heart out," Hannah told Newsweek.

Her mother's heart warmed with happiness. But before Presley could no longer take her eyes off her own reflection, the baby looked rather skeptical and wide-eyed at her likeness.

It was only after a few seconds that the girl's jaw literally dropped and she began to giggle and babble at the top of her voice.

And because laughter is contagious, Presley's father couldn't help but smile too. "I loved watching the look on his face. He's so in love with her," Hannah said of her husband.

"The father's face! So full of love," one TikTok user also claimed to have recognized. Another commented on the video, saying that a baby's laughter is the best sound in the world.

Meanwhile, Dr. Gary Kirkilas, a paediatrician at the Children's Hospital in Phoenix (Arizona), classified little Presley's laughter from a medical perspective. "When a four-month-old baby smiles at himself in the mirror, he is simply smiling at someone else's face, not his own," says Kirkilas.

The reason is simple! Until children are one and a half to two years old, they do not perceive themselves as an independent person, but as part of their caregiver - often their mother. So Presley probably didn't know that she had laughed so heartily at herself.
