Florida (USA) - US-American Lexi (27) actually just wanted to visit an amusement park with her boyfriend Dave (28), eat and have fun. But her partner didn't have a head for it, he was tensely waiting for a very special moment!

The setting was the Florida State Fair, which is known far beyond the state of Florida . It was there that Dave wanted to set the course for the future and propose to his sweetheart.

As People reported, the two met in 2014 and had already visited the fair twice before. The couple discovered the stand of caricaturist Damion Dunn and had themselves drawn by the artist.

The portraits were so well received that Dave made Dunn an accomplice - and brought him on board before his most recent visit to State Fair. The idea: Dunn was to paint portraits of the couple - just like the two times before. Not just like that, but with the motif of Dave falling to his knees in front of his Lexi.

No sooner said than done. On February 16, the time had finally come, the lovers got into position in front of Dunn's easel, he set to work and produced the portrait with the previously agreed motif.

Lexi later posted the moment when Dunn unveiled the finished work of art on TikTok , where the video went viral and has been played more than 450,000 times so far.

You can see Lexi looking incredulous and Dave, looking a little shy, waiting for his turn. Shortly afterwards, the big moment arrives: the 28-year-old drops to his knees and asks the love of his life to marry him.

Lexi, completely perplexed, immediately starts sobbing, says yes of course and then hugs her fiancé. "When he got down on one knee, it clicked for me: OMG, this is really happening!" the 27-year-old recalled.

Cartoonist Damion Dunn wrote on his Instagram channel that he had been "a bit nervous". But supporting Dave was of course a matter of honor. Now the artist is hoping for a follow-up commission: "I'm also trying to draw the future babies," says Dunn with a twinkle in his eye.
