Planned bank robbery ends fatally: woman accidentally blows herself up

Thessaloniki (Greece) - Horror in the early morning: A woman died when a bomb exploded that she apparently wanted to bring into a bank!

According to reports, the 38-year-old was traveling in the Greek city of Thessaloniki at around 5 am.

According to the daily newspaper "Kathimerini", the bomb exploded in her hands during transportation.

The detonation damaged several surrounding shop windows and cars.

The local police suspect that she intended to blow up an ATM with the explosive device.

The dead woman was not unknown to the authorities, as she had previously taken part in several robberies - she is also said to have already been in prison.

It is suspected that she may have had links to extreme left-wing groups. The investigation is ongoing.
