Sharks have been coming to the Mediterranean beach of Hadera for days. The animals seem to have lost all fear of humans, allow themselves to be touched and are fed by beach visitors. But on Monday afternoon, a terrible incident occurred there, reports"The Times of Israel".

A diver was attacked by a shark. Shocked beach guests filmed the incident. The man desperately tried to escape from the predator, stretching his arms in the air. "They bit me," the diver is said to have shouted repeatedly, according to witnesses. Then he is pulled underwater. "We saw three sharks and a huge pool of blood next to them," a beach guest toldChannel 12. "Suddenly he was gone."

It was probably a disaster with an announcement. In other videos taken minutes before the accident, a shark more than two meters long can be seen swimming among the stunned bathers. The sea predator nudges small children with its snout, but nobody seems to be bothered by it.

It is still unclear whether it is the same animal that was responsible for the attack.

The incident occurred in the immediate vicinity of the Orot Rabin power plant, around 50 kilometers north of Tel Aviv on Israel's Mediterranean coast.

The section is a known shark hotspot, as the animals are attracted to the warm wastewater from the power plant. The section had actually been closed to swimmers for days due to several sightings.

The police are using jet skis and helicopters to search for the missing diver. But it seems almost impossible to find him alive. The beaches between Natanja and Hadera remain closed until further notice.
