"The boy was panicking and screaming": police officer saves schoolchild's life
New Jersey (USA) - Dave Brosonski, a patrolman in the US state of New Jersey , became a lifesaver on Monday afternoon. A schoolchild was in distress.

As the West Long Branch Police announced on Facebook , an eleven-year-old boy was on his way home after school when he suddenly got into trouble.
The little boy had been walking across a frozen lake, suddenly collapsed and then landed in about three feet of freezing water.
Police officer Brosonski was alerted and immediately rushed to the scene of the accident. "The boy was panicking and screaming that he couldn't feel his feet and arms," the officer told NBC New York.
After that, everything happened very quickly. Brosonski got into the icy water, cleared frozen rocks out of the way with his knees and made his way to the eleven-year-old in distress.
Police officer Dave Brosonski was glad he could help

The police officer did not feel the cold. According to the lifesaver, he was far too focused on rescuing the boy.
After Brosonski had pulled the schoolboy out of the water, the eleven-year-old was taken to hospital as a precaution.
It is not known why the little boy had skated across the lake - usually a popular meeting place for skaters - on his way home.
In any case, the police took the case as an opportunity to warn of the dangers around the lake. Dave Brosonski, meanwhile, was relieved and glad to have been in the right place at the right time.
