Joe Slovo (South Africa) - A man (†34) wanted to take his pregnant wife (33) to hospital so that she could give birth there. But the journey there took a tragic turn.

As the South African local newspaper The Citizen reports, Talent Gono and his wife Lilian were involved in a brawl outside their home.

A gang of eight attacked the 34-year-old with a knife, seriously injuring him in the chest and head, while he was taking his pregnant wife's travel bag to an Uber.

In the commotion, Lilian's water broke and she gave birth to her daughter while her husband lay bleeding on the ground. The attackers stood in the distance, watching and laughing.

Shortly afterwards, Lilian was taken to hospital with her newborn baby. She named the baby girl "Talent" after her deceased husband.

The South African police have since opened an investigation.
