The 35-year-old openly admitted that she grew up in a household where the word "love" did not play a major role.

As a result, Arielle would now find it extremely difficult to accept the affection shown to her by her own children and her partner.

Too much love would quickly make the New Yorker feel overstimulated. On TikTok, she encouraged her followers to share their own experiences.

Arielle's community actually only includes around 6000 other TikTokers. In this case, however, more than eight million people watched her video. Around 500,000 of them commented on the post and followed her appeal.

"I love you" were foreign words for the US-American for a long time

What the 35-year-old had not expected: many users admitted to having had similar experiences in childhood and later as adults.

"I find it easier with the children, but I still have problems with my partner sometimes. I love him so much, but affection still feels so unfamiliar to me," was one of the comments.

In an interview with People, Arielle later admitted that she had no idea that her video would make such waves. "It was surprising, but also revealing. I didn't realize that so many people could relate to my thoughts," she said.

Hugs or the words "I love you" were foreign to her for a long time. However, the 35-year-old is now in the process of breaking the "curse" imposed on her. Arielle doesn't want her kids or her fiancé to feel unloved. "I'm just learning to return the favor," said the US-American.
