Boston (Massachusetts/USA) - What an incredible find! A young American woman named Anastasia could hardly believe her eyes when she recently discovered a tarnished teapot in a second-hand store.

When she took a closer look at it, she discovered what a treasure she had just found: a jug made of real silverware.

In a video on her TikTok account , she showed her 280,000 or so followers the piece of jewelry that she had got hold of for just 4.99 US dollars (the equivalent of around 4.80 euros). A real bargain, as this exact piece of tableware costs a whole 119.95 US dollars, or 115 euros, new online!

The only difference: Anastasia's jug was brown in color, whereas the carafe is normally shiny silver.

However, instead of being put off by this, the young woman felt motivated. And so she took the jug to her home. And there she finally began to work a small miracle.

So she quickly put on gloves and sprayed the jug with an all-purpose cleaner. She then rinsed her find and made herself a mixture of water, salt and baking soda. She began by pouring the mixture over the jug and then rubbing it in.

And that's when it happened: the old shine finally shone through.

She then rubbed the jug with a silver cream to seal it and lo and behold, the used find looked like new again!

Anastasia proudly presented her work and, to celebrate her success, immediately made herself a cup of tea in her old-new service.

"I wonder who used it before me," she writes in the caption of the video. A question she will probably never fully answer.
