Giant baby weighs 6 kilos: Mom in luck, midwives completely stunned
Birmingham (Alabama/USA) - What a bundle of joy! A woman from the USA gave birth to a giant baby. The baby girl weighed a whopping 6010 grams at birth.

Little Paris Halo was born by caesarean section on March 4. Two weeks before her due date.
The little girl weighed a whopping 6010 grams after birth, reports Today. A birth weight of between 2800 and 4200 grams is actually considered normal for babies. But it doesn't matter: Paris Halo is perfectly healthy. The big bundle of joy is developing splendidly.
Pamela Mann (31), the overjoyed mother, can hardly believe her luck. Four weeks before the birth, the doctor had measured a weight of 3.6 kilograms, the astonished mother told WVTM.
When Paris Halo arrived, she initially thought nothing of her weight. "I thought 13 pounds [about 6 kilos] was normal. It's my first child, I had no idea," Pamela told Today.
"The doctor pulls it out of me and all the nurses are just like, 'Oh my God,' 'Wow!' Then I freaked out too."
Since then, her little girl has been THE star at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. "The nurses make special trips just to see how big she is," explains Pamela with a wink.

Mother and child are doing splendidly
Pamela and her daughter will spend a few more days on the neonatal ward before finally going home, where the whole family is already eagerly awaiting the new arrival. Her daughter is "doing great", says the beaming mother.
Some children attract worldwide attention as soon as they are born. In 2020, for example, a little girl was born in Poland, weighing 6860 grams at birth .
According to the Guinness Book of Records, the heaviest known baby was born in the USA in 1879. The unnamed infant weighed 9.98 kilos, but tragically died shortly after birth.
